The Lake District
A fabulous rural part of England and lovely place to spend your summer holidays. If you are feeling fit, the plan could be to do lots of outdoor activities in the hills, so some good walking boots will be needed for exploring the UK's largest national park and if you are feeling really energetic then why not try mountain biking, climbing, walking, kayaking and canoeing facilities that are on offer.
There are many popular attractions in the lake district which include the Grizedale sculpture trail, a steamer cruise along Ullswater, and a visit to Beatrix Potter's home in Ambleside. Saying all this, remember to bring some Kendal Mint Cake to keep those energy levels up.
