Spring is nearly here and the weather hopefully is for changing and this is the time that a lot of people who love to caravan are thinking about where to go in the summer. The UK is crammed full of great caravan sites to visit, from the wilds and loch-side views of Scotland to the rolling hills of Northumberland and the scenic lakes of the Lake District. There is a whole host of great places throughout the UK to park your caravan and relax over the summer holidays and avoid the stresses and strains of travelling abroad, but the problem is which place or country in the UK to choose from!

Below are some suggestions for caravan sites that are worth a visit, though it is wise to book early especially for those popular spots near large populations.

Google Review: "Clean, well maintained, right next to the loch for perfect access to fishing and canoeing. I go most years, and it's the highlight of my year every time. Waking up with the crisp scottish air on your tongue and views like one gets on a postcard is something worth battling through the midges for."

2. Hillhead Caravan Club Site

This is a popular site especially in the summer, therefore booking early is essential. A great place for families with it`s on-site swimming pool, games room, bar and restaurant to keep everyone in the family entertained. Google Review: "We have been here now twice and we are going again in august .we are a couple in our 40's and my parents follow us in their caravan . This site is the best caravan club site we have been to and we have been to quite a lot over the five years we have been caravanning . It is excellent for families as there is so much to do for the kids . It has two swimming pools a bar with entertainment on at night a games room a well stocked shop with many caravan accessories a great play area and a grassed area for football . The bus stop outside the site is great for catching the bus into Brixham .This site is a must for families so just try it you wont be disappointed."

3. Gwern-Y-Bwlch

Llanbrynmair, Powys, Wales

This site is set in a remote part of Mid Wales and is a must if you love seclusion. UK Camp Site Website Review: "Beautiful views and a very pretty dog walk with masses of bluebells at this time of year. Very peaceful apart from the occasional low flying plane. The nearest town is machynlleth where there is a good street market on Wednesdays. Very good value at £12 a night."
